Our BA in Linguistics and Social Anthropology program offers an exploration of human language capabilities and global linguistic diversity, alongside an examination of social and cultural existence and the essence of humanity. In the Linguistics component, you'll analyze worldwide languages' phonetics and structures, investigating subjects like: language origins, evolution, and extinction, first language acquisition in children, adult second language learning, gender-based speech variations, individual and group communication dynamics, and linguistic interactions between different language communities. Additionally, you'll gain proficiency in applying quantitative techniques to analyze extensive language datasets - a versatile skill with lifelong applications across various disciplines. The Social Anthropology segment covers societal structures, cultural practices, religious beliefs, identity formation, and human diversity, while providing foundational training in anthropological research methodologies and subject areas.
