Linguistics, as the scientific study of language, examines all aspects of communication, including:

its evolution through history.
Our BA in Linguistics and Language enables you to explore core concepts in modern linguistics at a globally renowned research institution. This program allows you to achieve near-fluency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish - or reach upper-intermediate to advanced Japanese proficiency (depending on your starting level) - while developing translation, summarization, and presentation skills.
Additionally, you may study the cultural contexts of French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish-speaking communities, with interdisciplinary courses available that examine themes across multiple linguistic regions.
