The PhD program in Childhood and Youth Studies enables you to cultivate specialized expertise in interdisciplinary areas while refining advanced research capabilities. You'll collaborate with globally-minded faculty members from the internationally renowned Centre for Innovation and Research in Childhood and Youth (CIRCY), who are leaders in their respective fields. Our doctoral candidates represent diverse global backgrounds, with many pursuing the degree to enhance their professional trajectories. This doctoral program connects to three University Schools: Education and Social Work, Law, Politics and Sociology, and Psychology. While you'll be primarily affiliated with one School based on your research focus, you'll also join CIRCY's interdisciplinary doctoral community. CIRCY scholars across various disciplines work to comprehend and positively impact the lives of children, youth, and families, while advancing theoretical, research-based, and practical understandings of childhood and youth.
