This program equips you to launch your teaching career with confidence, backed by our strong employment track record. You'll gain teaching experience in schools across East or West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey, Hampshire, or Kent. Our school-based training is delivered by seasoned mentors and professional tutors, with continuous support from University tutors. While we strive to deliver the program as described, for the PGCE's school placement component, we'll endeavor to arrange a placement within 50 miles of either the University or your residence. Should placement availability become limited, we reserve the right to rescind course offers.

Qualification Requirements

You should normally have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above.
You will need:
strong knowledge and understanding of Art and Design history and contemporary practice, and a sound awareness of how the subject is currently taught within Secondary state schools,
evidence of ongoing personal practice,
an undergraduate degree in Art or Design or a related subject. The qualification must be from an approved Higher Education institution or validating body,
GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C (or equivalent). You must provide evidence of these qualifications at interview.
IELTS (Academic) - Higher level (7.0 overall, including at least 6.5 in each component). TOEFL (iBT) - 95 overall, including at least 22 in Listening, 23 in Reading, 23 in Speaking, 24 in Writing.
