We examine critical challenges confronting Britain, Europe, and global affairs, working alongside leading scholars at the forefront of political analysis. Our expertise spans diverse areas including international relations, energy policy, citizenship and migration studies, gender in politics, and governance integrity. Pursue either a PhD or MPhil degree - the PhD requires significant original research advancing knowledge in your field, while the MPhil involves independent research at a more focused level (resulting in a Master of Philosophy qualification). Flexibility exists to transition from MPhil to PhD during your studies.

Youre normally expected to have a Masters degree and an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree.
Subject-specific requirements
Your qualification should be in politics or a related subject area but you may still be considered for the degree if you have a qualification in a different subject area. In certain circumstances, you may also be considered for the degree if you have other relevant professional qualifications or relevant research experience of equivalent standing.
IELTS (Academic) - High level (6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component).
TOEFL (iBT) - Higher level 88 overall, including at least 20 Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
