Address real-world challenges encountered by financial professionals and policymakers. Collaborate with academically accomplished researchers, some of whom bring extensive industry expertise from leading investment banks, hedge funds, and related sectors. Our research operates through two primary groups: The interdisciplinary Business Finance Research Group examines corporate finance, governance in public and private enterprises, and the functions of private equity firms, banks, and financial intermediaries. Their publications cover financial misconduct, banking regulations, startup financing, and corporate finance during global crises. The Quantitative FinTech (QFin) group specializes in quantitative methods, financial technology, and sustainable finance, partnering with businesses on market-relevant projects. Both groups host frequent seminars featuring internal and guest speakers. Pursue either a PhD or MPhil degree, with key differences in duration and research scope. PhD candidates produce groundbreaking contributions to their field, while MPhil students conduct independent research at a more introductory level, earning a Master of Philosophy qualification. Transitioning from MPhil to PhD may be possible during your studies.
