You'll be taught by globally renowned biochemists specializing in diverse areas—from DNA repair to Alzheimer's molecular foundations. Their collaborations with the Sussex Drug Discovery Centre and Genome Damage and Stability Centre will enhance your learning. Our curriculum reflects cutting-edge research, offering elective modules like molecular biology or pharmaceutical development.

The optional industry year—taken after Year 2 before completing your degree—provides invaluable professional exposure in biochemistry. The competencies developed during this placement will significantly boost your career prospects post-graduation.

To build practical skills and improve job readiness, you can pursue an optional work placement. This experience offers firsthand industry knowledge and employer-sought abilities. While you'll need to secure the position yourself, our career specialists provide support with:

employer connections
application preparation
interview coaching.
If unsuccessful, you'll seamlessly continue with the standard degree pathway.
