You can join this program by transferring from any of our other BSc Biochemistry courses after a selection process during your second year. During your third year, you'll complete a full-time research placement in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector, either in the UK or abroad. Recent UK placements have featured companies like GSK, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Proctor & Gamble, Merck, Eli Lilly, Syngenta, Immunocore, Randox, PsiOxus Therapeutics, ViiV Healthcare, Pirbright Institute, Wellcome Sanger Institute, and Diamond Light Source. Many placements offer compensation and provide invaluable hands-on experience in external research laboratories.
Upon completing your placement, you'll submit a research report detailing your work, which contributes to your degree assessment.
