The Guildford School of Acting (GSA) stands among the UK's top accredited drama institutions, offering focused conservatoire training in a specially designed facility on the University of Surrey grounds.
This hands-on, cross-disciplinary MFA in Teaching and Practice of Voice and Singing builds on students' prior knowledge in either or both fields. It creates a distinctive platform for exploring and refining specialized vocal methods suited to professional performing arts that may incorporate both speech and song. The program uniquely combines voice and singing instruction within both a conservatoire setting and business framework.
As the only two-year master's program of its kind in the field, participants will help shape the future of voice and singing professionals. The MFA emphasizes cultivating specialized abilities and understanding, preparing graduates as highly competent instructors and coaches ready to join their specialized industries. The curriculum covers fundamental elements of both disciplines, blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience, including GSA work placements, networking events, and career development sessions. Every GSA student graduates with both practical skills and theoretical insights into career pathways, along with strategies for pursuing them after completing their studies.
