Our Master of Arts in Film, Animation, and Digital Arts is an expansive interdisciplinary program that addresses cutting-edge innovations in motion picture creation technologies, including virtual production, performance capture, digital synthesis, and real-time visual effects. These advancements in digital media arts demand versatile professionals with diverse skill sets. This practice-focused program combines hands-on learning with a strong theoretical foundation. Spanning 12 months, the course is divided between two semesters and the University's summer term. The first semester features intensive workshops aimed at strengthening core competencies in scriptwriting, filmmaking, animation, computer graphics, and visual effects while quickly building proficiency in emerging fields like virtual production, game engine applications, and digital cinematography. Alongside these practical components, students receive comprehensive instruction in modern moving image theory. The program culminates in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary production project, offering students valuable team experience while working on innovative creative assignments.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum 2:2 UK undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) usually, but not necessarily, in a relevant subject area. Applicants are required to submit a portfolio of relevant work. Portfolio material usually consists of a showreel or a selection of your best work in the media and formats in which you have previously worked. Depending on the extent to which you have specialised, this could include examples of film, animation, 3D modelling, VFX, motion graphics, illustration, creative photography, scriptwriting, digital artworks, painting, sculpture, set design, live theatre work, installation, or indeed any other creative work which you feel demonstrates relevant skills and creativities. IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other elements.TOEFL 88 overall, Reading 20, Listening 19, Speaking 22, Writing 19.
