Exceptional legal professionals don't just comprehend existing laws - they grasp the underlying principles, philosophical foundations, and potential improvements within the legal system. For those passionate about acquiring comprehensive legal training and exploring fundamental questions about legal frameworks, this program offers the perfect opportunity. Our LLB in Law (Philosophy, Politics and Law Pathway) cultivates advanced analytical abilities that modern employers actively seek. As automation handles routine tasks, organizations increasingly value law graduates who demonstrate sophisticated problem-solving capabilities, abstract reasoning, critical argumentation, and innovative approaches to unprecedented legal challenges - precisely what our curriculum provides.

Earning your degree from Surrey creates excellent pathways to the postgraduate qualifications required for solicitor or barrister roles. To maximize these opportunities, we've established a partnership with the University of Law to streamline access to their solicitor training programs. Our acclaimed Professional Training placements equip students for professional careers in the legal sector.

You'll develop thorough knowledge of core legal disciplines, encompassing state governance (public and criminal law), private individual relations (contract and tort law), and property rights (land law, equity and trusts). Following your foundational year, you'll delve into profound examinations of legal system functionality, design principles, and reform mechanisms. Elective modules will explore law's philosophical, social and political aspects, concentrating on contemporary legal issues while enhancing your understanding of law-society interactions and the value systems underpinning our legal structures.
