This program explores food composition, nutrient functions, and their connections to health and illness. You'll develop comprehensive knowledge of nutrient absorption and utilization, along with a thorough understanding of nutrition's role in health maintenance and disease progression. During your initial year, you'll cover fundamental subjects such as biochemistry, cellular biology, food science, nutritional health, and human physiology, establishing a strong base for advanced study. Acquire practical experience through our recognized Professional Training Placements program, with opportunities in various organizations including government agencies, healthcare providers, and nutrition firms. Benefit from instruction by faculty honored with the Queen's Anniversary Prize 2017-18 for their outstanding contributions to food and nutrition research. Upon completion, you'll meet the academic qualifications to register with the Association for Nutrition as an associate nutritionist.
