Engage in a practical, clinical curriculum designed in partnership with the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative. Utilize our Clinical Simulation Centre, featuring a Critical Care Unit with birthing pools, to rehearse realistic scenarios using high-fidelity manikins and trained actors. Dedicate 50% of your program to clinical placements, applying your skills in real healthcare environments such as maternity wards under the guidance of experienced professionals. Be taught by a diverse faculty of healthcare experts, all with NHS experience, many of whom conduct research in areas like maternal and child health. Fulfill the academic criteria required for Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration to practice as a midwife after graduation. Eligible UK students can access financial assistance through the NHS Learning Support Fund, including an annual £5,000 training grant and travel expense coverage for clinical placements.
This program provides comprehensive training in supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Your first year covers essential midwifery foundations, including human biology, ethics, and population health. The second year focuses on managing complex cases and obstetric emergencies like abnormal deliveries and pregnancy-related hypertension. Your final year advances these concepts with intensive care scenarios and leadership development.
