This BSc program emphasizes tackling sustainable development challenges through an interdisciplinary approach. You'll learn at our renowned Centre for Environment and Sustainability (CES), established in 1992 and globally recognized for its cross-disciplinary sustainability research. CES faculty members, with backgrounds in academia, industry, and government, will guide your studies. Their expertise spans: renewable energy and green technologies, sustainable consumption patterns, corporate environmental responsibility, lifecycle analysis, policy formulation, environmental sociology, sustainable economic models, vertical agriculture, and water management systems. Additionally, you can participate in our distinguished Professional Training program, designed to equip students for careers across multiple industries.
The curriculum equips you with cross-disciplinary tools to address sustainability challenges encountered by individuals, organizations, and communities. First-year instruction by CES faculty covers foundational environmental science, climate systems, ecological economics, sustainability principles, and research methodologies, including a hands-on field module examining environmental and community revitalization. During subsequent years, you'll broaden your perspective through courses in complementary disciplines like legal studies, political science, and behavioral science, alongside advanced CES modules strengthening your sustainability expertise and research capabilities. The program culminates with an independent research project, where you'll investigate a specific environmental or sustainability issue with faculty supervision.
