While developing your knowledge of core biomedical science concepts and disease mechanisms, you can choose specialized modules aligned with your interests, covering cutting-edge techniques in gene analysis, brain science, drug development, and substance effects. Acquire practical experience through our Professional Training program, collaborating with partner organizations that reserve positions specifically for future biomedical science professionals. Opt for the integrated masters program, featuring an extra year dedicated to intensive research, to equip yourself for scientific research positions in either corporate or academic settings. Earning a degree accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science enables you to pursue graduate positions where you can obtain the Certificate of Competence required for HCPC registration.

Your initial year covers essential biomedical subjects like bacterial studies, molecular chemistry, cellular structures, heredity, human body functions, microscopic organisms, and bodily systems, establishing a strong base for subsequent studies. The second year delves into biochemical analysis, disease processes, and virus studies. You may also choose to examine pharmaceutical science, exploring how medications interact with bodily systems, or investigate bacterial populations, focusing on drug-resistant microbes and surface-adhering bacterial colonies.

In the final year, you'll select two specialized modules from areas like advanced drug studies, biological clocks, immune system science, microscopic organism research, or toxin effects. These complement required courses on cancer development and therapies, disease spread patterns, immune system disorders and blood-related immune diseases, and microorganism interactions. Additionally, you'll collaborate with a faculty advisor to execute an independent research project, conducting laboratory work while analyzing data and scientific publications.
