Our Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and Master of Engineering (MEng) programs are designed in collaboration with industry partners. These courses will provide you with essential technical abilities and analytical thinking to address practical engineering challenges, setting you up for a rewarding career in chemical and process engineering fields. Throughout your studies, you'll gain hands-on experience with the entire chemical engineering workflow: our £1.7 million facility features a fully functional pilot plant that you'll utilize during your program and operate collaboratively in your third year. Additionally, you can participate in our recognized Professional Training placements program, designed to equip students for industrial careers. A standout feature of Surrey is our acclaimed Professional Training placements that ready students for professional roles.
Our curriculum addresses contemporary industry challenges, blending core chemical engineering principles with interdisciplinary design, biochemical engineering, and sustainable practices. You'll learn from award-winning faculty members while building a comprehensive knowledge foundation applicable throughout chemical and process industries. This knowledge will be directly implemented when you undertake group process design projects in your third year. You can enroll in either the BEng or MEng program, with the MEng offering an additional master's year that serves as the pathway to chartered engineer status. MEng students may also engage in cross-disciplinary projects alongside engineering peers from other University departments.
