Our Social Work faculty provides supervision spanning all research domains. Current projects examine support systems for families with disabled children, diverse facets of criminal justice social work, and the lived experiences of children in care and young care leavers. Numerous students collaborate with experts from the Centre for Excellence for Children's Care and Protection (CELCIS) and the Children and Young People's Centre for Justice (CYCJ). The Strathclyde Doctoral School fosters a dynamic, student-focused research ecosystem with comprehensive training programs to nurture emerging scholars. We actively promote cross-disciplinary collaboration, evidenced by our four interdisciplinary Research Clusters. Applicants are generally required to have a first-class or a strong upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in a relevant discipline (though there is some flexibility within this, e.g. for students who have a relevant Masters degree with merit/distinction).

IELTS - 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL ibt - 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component-(Listening- 17, Reading- 18, Speaking- 20, Writing- 18)
