Our Strathclyde Centre for Doctoral Training (SCDT) in Communication Disorders is a thriving multidisciplinary hub dedicated to advancing research across various aspects of diagnosing and treating communication challenges. With supervisors spanning all four University faculties, you'll benefit from top-tier academic guidance and extensive technical resources, including specialized labs for speech analysis, movement studies, ultrasound tongue imaging, signal processing, eye-tracking systems, and EEG. Our program offers flexible PhD options, available either full-time over three years or part-time, alongside a one-year MRes in Speech and Language Sciences that cultivates advanced research skills through an in-depth dissertation project.
You require to have a first-class or upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in speech and language pathology or a related subject.
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL (ibt): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18.
