Our department boasts dedicated faculty in French, Italian, Spanish, and Translation studies, providing exceptional guidance for your research projects. You'll join our vibrant Graduate School community, collaborating with fellow researchers from diverse academic backgrounds. We offer one-year MPhil programs or three-year PhD opportunities. Research specializations include: Contemporary and historical cultural studies in Francophone Africa, Italy, Latin America, and Spain (19th-20th centuries); Women's literature and readership; Modern historical studies (with emphasis on WWII); Intellectual history; and Translation theory and practice.
You normally require to have a first-class or upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in Spanish, French or Italian.
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL (ibt): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18.
