Join us at our Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), a premier research hub dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical innovation, improving medical treatments, and optimizing medication use. Explore the body's defense mechanisms against illness and investigate how immune system malfunctions contribute to conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and allergies. Our programs combine cutting-edge research with industry partnerships, NHS collaborations, and global connections. Program Overview Our five-year MSci Immunology Integrated Masters program offers entry points at Year 1 (with Highers) or Year 2 (with Advanced Highers/A Levels). Immunology examines the body's disease-fighting systems and explores autoimmune disorders where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. This specialized degree is ideal for students pursuing focused biomedical science careers, especially in research. Evaluation Methods We assess knowledge through examinations, written assignments, presentations, and digital learning tools on our Myplace platform. Practical skills are evaluated via lab tests, experiment documentation, project reports, and online assessments. Communication abilities are measured through written work and oral presentations. The final year features an independent research project showcasing investigative skills, analytical thinking, and methodological competence. Career Pathways Graduates of our MSci Immunology program enter diverse fields including pharmaceutical development, food technology, environmental protection, healthcare, and anti-aging research. Alumni secure positions in biotech firms, hospital laboratories, environmental agencies, forensic science units, academic institutions, government science roles, and education. Many pursue advanced degrees while the program's transferable skills also open doors to finance, management, marketing, business development, and media careers.
