Current statistics and forecasts about urbanization trends indicate that cities have become, and will continue to be, the predominant human habitat. While urban centers offer significant opportunities, they also generate stress, disparities, and environmental challenges. Recognizing this dual nature, the United Nations incorporated 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its 2030 Agenda, with SDG 11 specifically targeting urban areas to create "Inclusive, Safe, Resilient and Sustainable" communities. Our program directly tackles these issues, equipping students to develop adaptive, durable, and eco-friendly urban spaces that serve all residents, thereby shaping conscientious urban designers for tomorrow. This forward-thinking curriculum builds upon the Urban Design Studies Unit's pioneering work in design methodologies, city-scale analytics, structural patterns, and theoretical frameworks.
