All postgraduate researchers automatically gain membership to the Strathclyde Doctoral School. Our cutting-edge research delivers practical, innovative solutions for industry, supported by facilities including the UK's largest academic towing wave tank. Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PgCert RPD) As a PhD candidate, you'll automatically enroll in the Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PgCert RPD). This program enriches your research journey while formally acknowledging the competencies and experiences you develop as a researcher. The certificate cultivates critical skills for career growth and professional success, including: Advanced knowledge and cognitive capabilities for conducting research Essential personal attributes for research excellence and future career achievement Awareness of professional standards, expectations, and ethical conduct in your field Effective collaboration skills and the ability to communicate research impact to varied audiences You'll coordinate these developmental activities with your doctoral work, systematically recording and reflecting on your progress toward success.
A first-class or upper second-class BEng Honours degree, or equivalent, or an MSc in a related subject.
IELTS condition 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
TOEFL (ibt): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18
