The Strathclyde Institute of Education comprises nine distinct yet interconnected research groups. Each theme encompasses multiple topics, allowing researchers to engage with more than one area while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. These research priorities are shaped by the broader policy landscape, particularly Scotland's educational focus on narrowing achievement gaps and promoting equity. Our thematic research approaches tackle these challenges from diverse perspectives.
Students can pursue a one-year MPhil or opt for a three-to-four year PhD program. Alternatively, the professional Doctorate of Education (EdD) offers structured pathways that integrate doctoral studies with practical career experience.
