Our research leverages cutting-edge scientific and mathematical breakthroughs to create innovative solutions for industrial and societal problems. These include pharmaceutical production, clean water distribution, and sustainable energy generation. Our work spans diverse fields, from engineering nanostructured materials to developing sophisticated reactor systems, from addressing climate change through innovative energy storage and gas separation techniques to studying protein clumping in neurodegenerative disorders. We maintain robust collaborations with engineering and science departments both at Strathclyde and beyond, along with numerous industry partners. Students can pursue a one-year MPhil or a three-to-four-year PhD program in any of our core research domains: Advanced manufacturing & materials, Energy solutions, Health and wellness initiatives, Social policy studies, and Precision measurement science
