The DEdPsy is a flexible research-focused program tailored for practicing Educational Psychologists (EPs) who have at least one year of professional experience. This degree merges applied psychology with rigorous real-world research addressing critical educational challenges. It fosters evidence-based practice and reflective thinking through a unique structure that prioritizes research over traditional coursework, aligning with the Currie Report's (2002) emphasis on research as a core EP activity. The program balances academic and professional development by equally weighting Research and Professional Practice components, reinforcing its identity as a professional doctorate while maintaining continuity with the MSc in Educational Psychology.

Duration:
Scottish EPs holding an MSc in Educational Psychology can complete the program in a minimum of 24 months.Those without an MSc may need to undertake an additional 9-month portfolio comprising three small-scale practice-based projects (1,500 words each, totaling 60 credits). These projects should address work at individualfamily, classschool, and schoolpolicy levels.
