Our Psychology department achieved outstanding results in the latest Research Excellence Framework, with 100% of our research impact and environment rated as world-leading or internationally excellent, along with 87% of our overall research. Our faculty explores a broad spectrum of topics, from how neuropsychology shapes perception and action to how scent influences partner selection. We foster strong collaborative relationships among our researchers, who maintain wide-reaching international partnerships. Both staff and students frequently engage in cross-disciplinary projects while partnering with public sector organizations and businesses. Research activities are structured around three primary groups: Cognition in Complex Environments, Behaviour & Evolution, and Health and Behaviour Change. With a supportive academic community that offers exceptional guidance for emerging researchers, Stirling provides an ideal setting for pursuing a PhD or MPhil in Psychology.
