Led by leading specialists, our program incorporates cutting-edge advancements in social research. You'll explore methods for evaluating challenges related to crime and societal issues. We'll guide you in addressing key inquiries like: What makes societies function? How do criminal activities and social challenges manifest within communities? How do diverse cultures interpret these concerns? What insights can we gain from effective social policies implemented abroad? Our BA (Hons) Criminology and Social Policy degree adopts a global perspective to help you comprehend various social matters, encompassing criminal justice systems, social inequalities, welfare systems, racial dynamics, migration patterns, disability rights, substance dependencies, and generational challenges. You'll develop essential abilities to independently investigate, interpret, and evaluate critical social concerns. Additionally, you'll leverage our robust connections with campus-based institutions including the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research, the Scottish Institute for Policing Research, the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research, and the Dementia Centre.
