Social Workers serve a vital function in helping people and families create meaningful improvements in their lives. Our postgraduate Social Work program provides pre-registration training for this fulfilling career, grounded in principles of human rights and social justice.
Approved by Social Work England, our curriculum prepares students for diverse social work environments. Graduates will meet all requirements for professional registration, having developed essential skills, knowledge, and ethical foundations. This accelerated program allows degree holders from any field to qualify for social work practice in about two years, significantly faster than traditional routes. Students may qualify for NHS Social Work bursary support.
Our teaching emphasizes critical analysis of both systemic and personal factors affecting clients' lives. The program includes 200 days of hands-on placement experience across various settings to develop professional competence.
The first semester establishes foundational knowledge for supervised practice through modules covering core skills, legislation, ethics, and theory. This is followed by an 80-day practical placement in the second semester.

Career Prospects
Designed for career changers with relevant degrees, this intensive program offers a faster path to professional qualification (typically two years instead of three or four). It's ideal for compassionate individuals seeking meaningful work that transforms lives. Graduates earn eligibility to register with Social Work England and gain an internationally recognized qualification. Many alumni secure positions with placement providers, while postgraduate study creates opportunities for advanced roles.
