Our Criminology programs go beyond theory, equipping you with a deep understanding of crime's root causes, societal responses, and potential solutions. You can pursue a broad Criminology education or focus on one of our specialized tracks.
At Staffordshire University, you'll examine the intricate factors behind criminal behavior and society's approach to critical issues like domestic abuse, weapon offenses, substance-related crimes, as well as global challenges including terrorism and international organized crime. You'll develop the ability to analyze crime and punishment within their social frameworks, questioning conventional notions of 'violence', 'harm' and 'justice'. The curriculum connects criminological concepts with real-world justice policies, examining crime causation and judicial responses. You'll study penal systems, corporate wrongdoing, and media influences on justice.
We offer three-year programs, placement year options, and MSci degrees. A Foundation year is available for those needing academic preparation or returning to education after a break.
