The Black Studies program aims to foster a comprehensive grasp of race and systemic racism, topics that have regained political prominence through the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement and its supporters. During your second year, you'll examine imperial history and assess its lasting social, political, and economic impacts. This foundation will help you comprehend contemporary racial inequality dynamics. In Year 3, you'll investigate how Black communities have resisted racial oppression. The curriculum also covers theories about race as a social construct, empowering you to confidently discuss identity formation and expression.
