The School of Chemistry boasts a vibrant, dedicated, and highly skilled postgraduate community, celebrated for its wide-ranging research expertise. Our postgraduate research programs - including PhD, MPhil, and MSc by Research - enable students to collaborate and conduct investigations alongside leading experts in their respective disciplines.
PhD (Doctorate): This intensive research program typically spans three to four years. Students undertake a comprehensive research project, produce a thesis limited to 80,000 words, and complete an oral defense examination.

Research applicants within the Faculty of Science require a good first degree with Honours at 2.1 (UK) or the overseas equivalent.
