In today's interconnected world, proficiency in foreign languages and cultural understanding should form essential competencies. University-level language studies enable learners to engage with diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives through their native tongues. Such studies also foster deeper reflection on one's own linguistic and cultural background. Within the School of Modern Languages, students learn from specialists across seven language disciplines and Comparative Literature, with faculty research spanning medieval to contemporary studies on diverse themes.
