The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a two-year full-time or four-year part-time research program. Candidates can apply directly for the MPhil by presenting an approved research proposal and demonstrating strong academic performance in their undergraduate studies. Typically, students transition to the MPhil after completing the Master of Literature (MLitt) coursework (two semesters), provided they show satisfactory progress and secure a supervisor for their research project. The degree is awarded based on a thesis of up to 40,000 words that offers novel insights in its field of study.
