This structured curriculum offers comprehensive training in both theoretical and practical research skills for medieval literature studies. Participants will broaden their understanding of English and Scottish literary traditions, spanning from ancient Old English texts to late medieval works. As part of the program, students join both the School's Medieval and Renaissance Research Group and the St Andrews Institute of Mediaeval Studies. The School provides specialized palaeography instruction, along with exclusive access to rare manuscript resources from the University's Special Collections.
