The MLitt in Iranian Studies provides students with a comprehensive exploration of Iran's history, political landscape, and global relations within an engaging academic setting. The program covers fundamental themes, methodologies, and historiographical approaches, addressing topics such as nationalism, religious influences, and societal structures, while examining Iran's regional and international significance. Students gain exposure to specialized knowledge spanning from Late Antiquity to contemporary Iran, supported by the Institute for Iranian Studies and faculty across disciplines like Art History, Classics, and Modern Languages. The University Library enhances learning with its exceptional collection of approximately 6,000 Persian volumes, ranking among the UK's finest resources. The curriculum features a core module on Iranian studies, supplemented by elective courses in history, politics, and language.
