The MLitt in Film Studies equips students with advanced research techniques and expertise in analyzing moving images, understanding diverse national and regional cinematic histories, grasping the complexities of the worldwide film market, and applying theoretical frameworks to cinema. This one-year postgraduate program, offered by the Department of Film Studies, adopts a multifaceted academic approach to examine films within an international framework. Students will explore lesser-known filmmaking traditions and re-evaluate established cinema through fresh cultural, theoretical, and historical lenses. The degree requires completion of several taught modules (running September through May), evaluated via written assignments, oral presentations, and a final dissertation.
Full-time duration: 12 months.
