This program offers advanced study of Russian and Spanish through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills for independent learning characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 60 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules requiring 540 total credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, potentially including cross-disciplinary Faculty offerings. Subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven modules that deepen subject expertise. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives (sometimes from other Faculties), while later years emphasize advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
