This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (Italian and Spanish) alongside Ancient History, delivered at an advanced, research-focused level. Students will develop insights into how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. The curriculum fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 60 months, this course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits total, typically earning 120 credits annually. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years provide specialized, research-driven instruction through tailored modules. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse elective choices (potentially spanning multiple Faculties), while later years focus on advanced, program-specific research-oriented studies.
