This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (German and Spanish) combined with International Relations, delivered at an advanced, research-focused level. Students will develop insights into how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. The curriculum fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, this course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits total, typically earning 120 credits annually. The initial two years feature compulsory program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years provide specialized, research-driven instruction through tailored program modules. The first two years combine mandatory program courses with various electives (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years focus on advanced, program-specific research learning.
