This program offers an advanced, research-focused exploration of Mathematics and Psychology (accredited by the British Psychological Society), where students learn how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and intellectual discipline. The 48-month course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years emphasize specialized, research-driven study through tailored advanced modules. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse elective choices (potentially spanning multiple Faculties), while the later stages focus on in-depth, program-aligned research learning.
