This program offers advanced study of Italian, Persian, and Russian through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent learning, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, which may include interdisciplinary faculty offerings. The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's academic focus. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse elective choices, potentially spanning multiple disciplines, while the latter years emphasize advanced, subject-specific research learning.
