This program offers an in-depth exploration of International Relations and Spanish through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous thinking. Spanning 60 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature compulsory program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years focus on advanced, research-driven coursework tailored to the program's specialized curriculum. The first two years combine mandatory program modules with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years emphasize specialized, research-oriented study.
