This program offers advanced study of Greek and Spanish through research-focused instruction, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic excellence. Spanning 60 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits total, typically earning 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years deliver specialized, research-driven education through advanced program-focused modules.
The first two years generally feature core program requirements alongside diverse elective choices (potentially incorporating courses from other Faculties). Later years concentrate on tailored, research-oriented study through discipline-specific advanced modules.
