This program offers advanced study of German, Persian, and Russian through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent learning, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, it leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring 480 credits total (typically 120 per year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes from other faculties), while later years focus on specialized, research-driven curriculum. The first two years blend core program modules with selected electives (potentially from other departments), followed by advanced research-oriented studies in subsequent years.
