This program offers an in-depth exploration of Geography and Philosophy through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, integrity, precision, and scholarly rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature compulsory program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years focus on advanced, research-driven education through specialized program modules. The first two years combine mandatory courses with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years emphasize tailored, research-oriented study.
