This program offers advanced study of French and Russian through research-focused instruction, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent learning, characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic excellence. Spanning 60 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits (typically 120 per year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, potentially including interdisciplinary selections. Subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), while later years emphasize advanced, program-specific research learning.
