The four-year joint Honours program's Arabic component is managed by the Department of Arabic and Persian in the School of Modern Languages. This curriculum covers diverse topics ranging from Islamic history to contemporary media Arabic, spanning classical medieval literature to modern literary works. Students will engage in advanced, research-focused study of Arabic, Italian, and Spanish, developing insights into how knowledge evolves and progresses. The program fosters independent learning, emphasizing curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous scholarship. This 48-month Master of Arts (Honours) degree requires completion of 480 credits, typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including cross-faculty modules). The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's objectives. The first two years blend core requirements with flexible electives (potentially from other faculties), while subsequent years deliver advanced, discipline-specific research-oriented instruction.
