This program offers advanced study in Arabic, French, and Russian through research-focused instruction, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. The 48-month curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, potentially including interdisciplinary Faculty selections. The final years deliver specialized, research-driven coursework tailored to the program's focus. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives (sometimes from other Faculties), while subsequent years concentrate on advanced, discipline-specific research modules.
