At Leeds University, you have the opportunity to pursue philosophy alongside one of nine language options. This four-year program blends linguistic proficiency with advanced analytical skills in philosophical reasoning. The philosophy curriculum covers essential areas including logical argumentation, ethical and political theories, modern philosophical history, epistemology and metaphysics, along with specialized fields like bioethics, gender studies, racial philosophy, and the ethics of conflict. Your language studies will achieve professional competency through immersive education and a compulsory year overseas. The program also includes cultural studies with emphasis on regions where your selected language is prevalent. During your final year, you can refine translation techniques or business language skills while developing an independent research project, allowing you to apply your academic training to a self-directed investigation.
