This program offers advanced study of Arabic and Russian, combined with an Integrated Year Abroad, focusing on research-driven learning where students explore how knowledge evolves and advances. It fosters independent study with an emphasis on curiosity, precision, and academic excellence. Spanning 60 months, it leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years feature core program-specific modules alongside optional selections (sometimes from other Faculties), while later years provide specialized, research-oriented coursework. The first two years blend mandatory program modules with elective choices (potentially from other departments), followed by advanced, discipline-focused studies in subsequent years.
